Coming in 2026...

(John Rundle (left) and Jonathan Moran in Pull Court at Bredon School)

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our visitors a very Happy New Year and tease some of the original content we have been working on for publication in 2026.

We were kindly given permission to visit and photograph two important Tinker Tailor locations in the last couple of months; Bredon School (Thursgood Preparatory School for Boys) and Overbury Court (Ann's House). You will be able to read our detailed location reports and see exactly where filming took place.

We have also recently spoken to Richard Cox, Tony Virgo and Marcia Wheeler about their experiences of working on these series - look out for our in-depth interviews with each of them. In addition, we will be continuing our series of articles on the filming locations in Portugal and Bern.

Before that, join us back here on New Year's Day when we will be getting a round in at The Island Queen in Noel Road…

  1. Just found your blog. Wonderful! I also discovered le Carré and the TV series through my parents who watched it almost every Christmas holiday (perhaps to counter “heavy good fellowship” of the season?) I look forward to Part II of the Bern locations as I’ve always loved the scene in the cafe with hip 70s decor from which Smiley and Esterhase watch the bank transaction surveillance operation across the street. Thanks for all this great info on the productions!

    1. Thanks for the lovely feedback Ken. The bank surveillance scenes and those in the cafe with Smiley and Esterhase were actually filmed in Thun. The good news is that Richard Cox (Production Manager on Smiley’s People) discussed this location with me during our interview and this will be published next month.
